Videoro is a video and photo editor for iPhone, provided by Videoro (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information the Videoro app and this website handle, why, and the choices you have. In short: the photos and videos you edit stay on your iPhone. The only time your media leaves your device is when you choose to publish a template to the Videoro community (section 5). Ads are shown only when you choose to watch one (section 6).
01Photos, videos and audio
The photos, videos, music and recordings you import into Videoro, your projects, photo drafts and the templates you save for yourself (“My templates”) are stored on your device. We don’t receive them, and editing them — including with Videoro’s AI tools — doesn’t upload them to us.
Auto captions use Apple’s speech recognition. When your iPhone supports on-device recognition for the chosen language, the audio is transcribed on the device. If it doesn’t, iOS sends the audio of the clip you are captioning to Apple to be transcribed. Apple handles that audio under Apple’s Privacy Policy; it is never sent to us.
Retouch, Manual retouch, Reshape, Makeup, Body, Hair Color, Skin Tone and Hide faces detect the position of faces, facial features (for example the outline of the eyes and lips), body joints, skin and hair so the adjustments land in the right place. This detection happens on your iPhone, only while you edit. The results are not stored, not used to recognise or identify anyone, and never sent off the device.
The app asks for access to your photo library so you can import media and save your exports, for the microphone only when you record a voiceover, and for speech recognition only when you create captions. You can change these permissions in the iOS Settings app.
02Usage statistics
To understand which features people use, find problems and decide what to improve, the app sends usage statistics to our server. They are linked to a random identifier created by the app when it is first installed (the “analytics ID”). This identifier is not your Apple ID and not your device’s advertising identifier, and it is reset if you delete and reinstall the app. If you sign in, your account is linked to this analytics ID.
| What | Examples |
|---|---|
| App and device details | App version, iOS version, iPhone model, language, region setting and time zone |
| How the app is used | Screens opened, tools used, templates chosen, shared or used, export settings and duration, whether an AI tool succeeded and how long it took |
| Diagnostics | When an AI tool can’t run: a short error code and how much memory was free, so we can fix the problem |
| In-app search | The words typed into Videoro’s feature search and how many results were found |
| Subscription steps | When the Pro screen is shown and whether a purchase was started, completed or cancelled |
We do not collect the content of your media, your precise location, your contacts or anything from other apps. Our server uses your IP address only briefly to protect the service from abuse (rate limiting); it is not stored with your statistics.
Turning it off: open Videoro → Me → Settings and switch off “Share usage analytics”. The app then stops sending statistics and asks our server to delete the statistics already collected from your device.
03Purchases and subscriptions
Videoro Pro is sold through Apple’s App Store, and Apple processes the payment. To confirm your subscription and keep it working on your devices, the app sends us the transaction record that Apple signs, and Apple’s servers send us notifications when a subscription renews, is cancelled or refunded. These records contain the product, price and currency, dates, the App Store country, transaction identifiers and whether a free trial or offer was used. They are linked to your analytics ID (and to your account, if you are signed in). We do not receive your name, email address, Apple ID or payment details from Apple.
If our team gives you Pro access directly — for example as a tester or after a support request — we store that grant with your analytics ID or account.
04Optional account
You can use every editing feature of Videoro without an account. You need one only to publish templates and to keep manually granted Pro access across devices. If you choose to sign in:
- Sign in with Apple gives us a unique user identifier and, if you choose to share them, your name and email address. Apple lets you hide your email by using a private relay address.
- Sign in with Google gives us your Google account identifier, name and email address.
When you sign in, the app sends us the sign-in token issued by Apple or Google. We check its signature with Apple’s or Google’s public keys, then create a session token for your iPhone. We store only a one-way hash of that session token; it expires after 90 days. We keep your account information on our server and link it to your analytics ID, so a subscription or Pro grant can be matched to your account, your templates are published under your account, and we can help you if you contact support.
You can delete your account at any time in Videoro → Me → Delete account. This deletes your account information, your sign-in sessions and every template you published, including their preview files, and for Sign in with Apple it revokes Videoro’s access to your Apple ID. If your session has expired, the app asks you to sign in once more to confirm it’s you before deleting.
05Community templates
Publishing a template is optional. Nothing in this section happens unless you tap “Share as template” and send it.
What is sent. When you publish a template, the app uploads:
- the template “recipe”: clip lengths, transitions, filters, speed, effects and photo motion, plus any text and emoji stickers in your edit — the text you typed becomes part of the public template;
- a preview video (up to 15 seconds, 720p, without sound, with the Videoro mark) and a poster image made from your edit — these show your photos and videos;
- the title and category you choose, and your first name only if you switch on “Show my name”.
Music, voiceovers and picture-in-picture layers are never included in a template.
Who sees it. Our moderators review every template before it is published. Once approved, the template, its preview and poster are visible to everyone who uses Videoro and can be opened by anyone who has the link. If a template is not approved, we tell you why in Me → Shared by me.
Reports. If you report a template, we store the reason, any details you add and your analytics ID (so each device can report a template once). The template is hidden for you straight away and our team reviews the report.
Using a template. When you use someone’s template, your photos and videos stay on your iPhone. We count the use (template ID and analytics ID, kept for 3 days so each device counts once a day).
Deleting. You can delete a template you published at any time in Me → Shared by me; it disappears from the feed and its files are deleted from our server. Uploads that were not finished are deleted after 24 hours. Videos that other people already made from your template stay on their devices.
Please publish only content you have the right to share and that shows other people only with their permission. See our Terms of Use for the community rules.
06Advertising
Videoro Pro has no ads. On the free plan, every video you export carries a small Videoro watermark. On the export screen you can choose to watch a short video ad (a “rewarded ad”) to export without the watermark and to unlock 60 fps for that export. An ad is shown only when you tap to watch one — never at launch, while you edit or in between screens.
These ads are provided by Google AdMob (Google LLC, or Google Ireland Limited in the EEA, UK and Switzerland). When you choose to watch an ad, Google’s Mobile Ads software in the app contacts Google to load and show it. Google receives and processes information such as:
- your IP address and an approximate location derived from it;
- device and app details — iPhone model, iOS version, language, the Videoro app version;
- advertising data — which ad was shown, whether it was watched to the end or tapped, and diagnostics about loading it;
- your device’s advertising identifier (IDFA), only if you allow tracking (see below).
Google uses this information to deliver the ad, measure it, prevent fraud and, where you allow it, show ads that are more relevant to you. Google processes it under its own policies; see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and Google’s Privacy Policy. We don’t receive this information from Google except as aggregated reports (for example, how many ads were shown). The photos, videos and audio you edit are never shared with Google or any advertiser.
Tracking permission (App Tracking Transparency). The first time you choose to watch an ad, iOS asks whether Videoro may track your activity across other companies’ apps and websites. If you tap “Ask App Not to Track”, the advertising identifier is not shared and Google shows ads that are not based on your activity in other apps. You can change your choice at any time in the iOS Settings app → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
Consent in the EEA, UK and Switzerland. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the app uses Google’s consent tool (User Messaging Platform) to ask for your consent before any ad is requested. It appears the first time you choose to watch an ad. You can refuse, and you can change your choice later in Videoro → Me → Settings → Ad privacy choices. If you don’t consent, ads may be limited or unavailable, and your export keeps the watermark.
Inside the app, our own usage statistics (section 2) record only that an ad was offered, watched or unavailable — not the advertising identifier.
07Support messages
If you email us, we use your email address and message only to reply and help you.
08What we don’t do
- We don’t show ads unless you choose to watch one, and Videoro Pro has no ads at all.
- We don’t read your device’s advertising identifier ourselves. Google AdMob may use it only for the ads you choose to watch, and only if you allow tracking (section 6).
- We don’t sell your information, and we never share your photos, videos or projects with advertisers.
- We don’t use third-party analytics services. The only third-party service that receives data directly from the app is Google AdMob, and only when you choose to watch an ad.
- We don’t use your photos, videos or other information to train AI models.
- We don’t use face or body detection to recognise who someone is.
09How long we keep information
- Usage statistics are deleted automatically after 13 months, or sooner if you switch analytics off.
- Account information is kept until you delete your account. Sign-in sessions expire after 90 days and are then deleted.
- Published templates, their previews and posters are kept until you delete them or your account, or until we remove them under our Terms. Unfinished uploads are deleted after 24 hours.
- Reports are kept while the reported template exists. Records used to count template uses are deleted after 3 days.
- Purchase records are kept for as long as tax and accounting rules require. When you delete your data, these records are kept but are no longer linked to you.
10Where information is stored and who can access it
Information is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and stored on servers run by our hosting provider, who processes it only on our behalf. It may be processed in a country other than yours; where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers. Only the Videoro team can access it — including the moderators who review templates you submit. We may disclose information if the law requires it, for example to report illegal content.
11Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU and UK, the CCPA in California, or the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On Personal Data”), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your information, and to object to or restrict its use. You can:
- switch off usage statistics and delete them in Videoro → Me → Settings;
- delete a published template in Videoro → Me → Shared by me;
- delete your account in Videoro → Me → Delete account;
- allow or stop ad tracking in the iOS Settings app → Privacy & Security → Tracking, and, in the EEA, UK and Switzerland, change your ad consent in Videoro → Me → Settings → Ad privacy choices;
- email us at support@videoro.co for anything else. Include your analytics ID (shown in Videoro → Me → Settings) so we can find your information.
We process information to provide the app, your account and your subscription (performance of a contract), to publish templates you choose to share (your consent — you can withdraw it by deleting the template), to show a rewarded ad when you ask for one (your consent where the law requires it — collected by Google’s consent tool in the EEA, UK and Switzerland), to understand and improve the app and keep it secure (our legitimate interests — you can object by switching analytics off), and to meet legal obligations such as accounting. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
12Children
Videoro is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. You must be at least 13 — or older if the law in your country requires — to sign in or publish templates. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
13Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we will also tell you in the app before it takes effect.
